Ranking your hotel on Apple Maps

Registering your hotel on Apple Business Connect

To register or claim your profile on Apple Business Connect, you'll need to create your Apple ID or sign in if you already have an account. Once the profile has been created, you must register your business by selecting the location and filling in all the requested details.

Confirm category, address and contact details

If you created your Apple Maps profile at some point, you can update the details so that users can see what the business is about and get in touch with the property. It's important to keep the phone number, opening hours and website up to date.

Add a link to your website in the “Book” button

Once updated, you'll need to add a link to your website in the “Book” button so that users go straight to your website, thereby increasing your hotel's direct bookings.

Register or update your hotel on Google My Business

Although you probably already have your profile on Google My Business, if you don't, you'll need to create or claim it so you can edit the information and keep it up to date.

Complete every detail in the profile

Once you've signed in with the account used to manage the Google My Business profile, you'll need to update all the details, such as images, opening hours, phone number, description, category, social media, etc.

It's important that the images are high quality, as these are the photographs users will see when they are searching for accommodation in that area.

Reply to reviews, both the good and the bad

A very important aspect of your Google Business Profile is replying to reviews, as it builds trust and reassurance for users who might be interested in our hotel. All reviews should be answered, even the bad ones, in a formal and friendly tone.

Optimising content with keywords in the title and descriptions

To rank your hotel higher on Apple Maps and Google Maps, you should optimise the content of the title as well as the description and images, adding keywords related to your business and its location. For example, if we have some apartments in Barcelona called “Apartamentos Medit”, we could optimise the name on the profile and change it to “Apartamentos Medit in Barcelona”.

In addition, Google Maps has added the Live View feature, so that users can see 3D directions on how to get to the property, although for now it is only available in certain countries and on certain devices.
